I believe in loving life for what it gives us. So many people go through their lives miserable, focusing on the negative aspects of their life. I believe that the secret of life is simple to focus on the good things we have.

In my own life, just as every other person, I will get angry or depressed. I think that it is vital, however, to reduce these feelings as much as possible. The fact is, we could lose our lives any minute. If we go through life miserable, always wishing for more, death could be a very scary thought.

I once knew a man who dedicated his entire life to helping others. He was an orthopedic surgeon and loved his profession as much as life itself. The man knew the value of life, and realized that in the end, a good life was determined by how much love and kindness was spread, not how much money was made. Until the day that he died, the man worked tirelessly, but happily, curing those who could not afford medical treatment. All through his life, he ignored the prospect of wealth, and focused on the good that comes in helping people, so when his death would eventually come, he would accept it with open arms, knowing that up to this point, he had lived life to the fullest. This man was my grandfather, and he helped me come to realize these secrets of life.

Life is a lot like golf. Why take an entire afternoon off to play golf if it will only result in anger and frustration in your performance? Just like golf, there is no point in living life this way. As long as I keep looking on the bright side of things, and loving life for what I have, my life will be fulfilled.
