I believe in Music
When I think of something heavenly, I think of music. I have been in love with music since the day I first began listening to the world around me. It surrounds me, envelops me, and warms me in my darkest hours. Music is more than just the syncopations, rhythms, and beats I feel, it is my love.
Everyday that I try to explain my self, words are not what first come to mind. The flow of chords are what I want to say, they embody me. The sounds I remember most are those of my grandmother's voice, as she sang me lullabies on those nights that I was for some reason too frightened to go to sleep. Her voice calmed me and became apart of me. I am the music I listen to, From Hank Williams to Colbie Caillat to Michael Bublé. They are my thoughts, my words, and my truth. I am one who listens to all types of music. Music has no race or gender, though some think it does. It has a message, and that message whatever it is, it is my truth.
Many believe that the path to heaven lies within the same path of truth and morality. I believe music is apart of that heavenly path and I will always be apart of the music I hear. With the chords in my heart and the tone in my thoughts I am my own walking song, a song that is never the same, but never different either. Music is apart of me, and when I find love music will be my gift.
