String/Orchestra Events at WSU
The annual Honors String Day, Friday, October 23, attracts some 60 students from throughout the region for a day of rehearsals and coaching with our string faculty, culminating in a performance with our student wind, brass, and percussion sections. Please encourage your advanced students to consider attending. Our repertoire this year will include Tchaikovsky’s Marche Slav and the first movement of Dittersdorf’s Bass Concerto, with faculty soloist Mark Foley. Registration materials will be available in mid-September.
All WSU Symphony Orchestra concerts are broadcast live via WSUiR, the university Internet radio station (http://wsuir.wichita.edu). Performances begin at 7:30pm.
