2008 String Romp
October 3-5, 2008
The 26th annual String Romp will be held October 3-5 at Rock Springs Ranch near Junction City. Students are brought to the camp by their school orchestra directors or private teachers. Parents are also welcome to attend the camp.
Students are assigned to either the Canon or Fugue Orchestra. Private teachers and school orchestra directors who wish to bring their students to the camp should keep these guidelines in mind:
Canon orchestra will work on music up to grade 1 ½. This is approximately Suzuki Book II. Students must be able to read music.
Fugue orchestra students will work on music grades 2-3. Students in Suzuki Book III and up who read music should be assigned to this orchestra.
Highlights of KASTA STRING ROMP include:
Friday- Jazzin’ with your instrument session
Saturday-Rehearsals with guest clinicians in the Fugue or Canon orchestra, horseback riding, talent show and movie.
Sunday-The two orchestras perform for each other and any parents who have come for the concert.
The fee for both students and adults is $85 per person and includes all meals, lodging and activities.
